Dragoness Empowerment is a campaign dedicated to empowering women through self-defense. My thesis project focuses on addressing the safety concerns faced by women in Charlotte, aiming to create a safer and more empowered community. Through this project, I learned the specific challenges women encounter regarding their safety and identify areas lacking awareness and education in self-defense. This inspires me to fill those gaps through design. My mission is to make a meaningful impact on the lives of women in Charlotte and contribute to building a community where all women feel confident and secure.
empowerment pamphlet
I developed an effective empowerment pamphlet as a proactive way to contribute to the safety and well-being of women in Charlotte. The purpose of these pamphlets is to provide valuable information that raises awareness and offers resources, safety tips, and emergency contacts.
Self-defense toolkit
I created a Self-defense Toolkit. The key functionality of this toolkit is to help women gear up for tough times. Inside the box will be a journal, affirmation cards, and a self-defense keychain—an easily accessible tool for personal safety. It's like a toolbox that includes both information and items you can use to feel confident and stronger.
COMMUNITY SUPPORT POSTERS
I designed a community support poster that promotes a sense of community and support for women. It will have uplifting messages, contact information for local support groups, and images that resonate with the community. This poster can be displayed in public spots to build a place of support and understanding in our community.
My designed products for the exhibit aim to inspire and encourage people about personal safety, the tools that empower women, and how feeling secure can make a positive difference in their lives. These products will raise awareness about the importance of self-defense and personal safety, serving as visible reminders of the steps individuals can take to protect themselves in the face of high crime rates.

Through the exhibition, I aim to inspire people to consider the importance of self-defense and personal safety. By highlighting the effectiveness of my products, I aim to initiate positive transformation and a safer, more empowered community for women in Charlotte and beyond.
